The name of the town comes from a spring discovered in the 1800´s. Away from downtown Silver Spring, you will find Acorn Park. Acorn Park is believed to be the location the original spring was found. Located on East West Highway, this park holds the spring´s discoverer Francis Preston Blair´s estate. This little park is now home to many murals. There is a park, a gazebo and a building where you can frequently find classes or get togethers going on.
